Ik werd vroeger ernstig overbevist. Een sterk visserijbeleid heeft ervoor gezorgd dat verschillende populatie bestanden hersteld zijn!

Ik eet voornamelijk weekdieren en wormen.

Je kan mij vinden langs de kusten van Europa helemaal in het noorden van de Atlantische oceaan (Bering Zee) tot in het westelijke deel van de Middellandse Zee. In de winter plant ik mij voort in de Noordzee.
